I was reading my blog posts this morning, and as usual, Simon at Stuck in a Book has posted his Sunday song choice. From the short time I have been following him, he has uploaded a varied mix of songs, some of which I like and others which are less appealing.
I think this is a really great idea. Musical taste is a very personal thing and it is something that interests me greatly, as talking to people about the kind of music they listen has lead me to discover artists and songs that I had previously been oblivious of.
My choice of song for this week is I'm Mandy Fly Me by 10cc
My Dad was and probably still is a huge 10cc fan and they were frequently heard playing on vinyl on my Dad's stereo. This song is on the album How Dare You which was released in 1976 when I was a young child. It is the first album I remember ever choosing to listen to and looking at it now it was probably quite a strange choice for me to make. This song is perhaps the most "normal" one of the album and I love it as much today as I did back then.
